The Lessons Our Fathers Leave Behind

The Lessons Our Fathers Leave Behind

Father’s Day always makes me think about my dad.

Like many of you, I wish I could pick up the phone and hear his voice one more time. I’d love to ask one more question, hear one more story, or simply spend one more round of golf together.

My dad taught me a lot over the years. Some lessons were practical. Others were taught without words at all. Things like showing up when you’re needed, treating people fairly, working hard, and taking pride in what you do.

As time passes, I’ve realized something important.

The people we love never truly leave us. Their lessons, values, stories, and traditions continue through the lives they touched.

In the monument business, I have the privilege of helping families honor those memories every day. Behind every monument is a story. A father. A mother. A grandparent. Someone whose life made a difference.

This Father’s Day, I’m remembering my dad and the many lessons he left behind. I’m also thinking about all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures whose love continues to shape the people they leave behind.

If your father is still with you, give him a call, share a meal, or spend a little extra time together.

And if he’s no longer here, take a moment to remember the lessons he gave you and the memories that still make you smile.

Happy Father’s Day.
